Select a link for each Christmas carol below for an arrangement written specifically for the recorder. Each page has arrangements written for soprano recorder and alto recorder. For more information, history of the songs, and versions of each carol in different keys, visit the Christmas Music Songs home page. It gives links to pages for each carol, with songs in many different keys and arrangements for each instrument. You can also view and print the lyrics to each carol.
Visit the new Christmas song recorder duet page! There are several carols arranged specifically for duets of soprano and alto recorder, including Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, and more. I am currently working on play-along recordings, so check back frequently or like my Facebook page for updates on the site.
For a countdown to Christmas, visit the How Many Days Until Christmas page. The Two Happy Bears are excited about the holiday and are eagerly counting every second!
The recorder is one of the simplest and most enjoyable instruments to learn. It has no keys, the tone holes are small and easy to cover, and it requires very little air to produce a tone. Also, the recorder has the distinct advantage of being a very affordable instrument to purchase. If you are interested in learning to play an instrument and have a limited budget, the recorder is a great place to start.
To help your practice go smoothly, you can play all of your Christmas music with a sleigh bell metronome!
